I have always had a “passion for fashion” and art , the latest issues of Vogue and Elle magazine makes me squirm with excitement, the very mention of fashion designer, fashion show and art exhibit, sends joy through my spider veins. My residence is filled with my artwork and the artwork of others. I am an artist on the side, selling my artwork and have experience as a model in my younger years. I was a runway model for the opening of H and M clothing store, even then they gave me business suits/career wear to model and they did not know I wanted to be an attorney. I was also a commercial model for Hyatt hotels and modeled wedding and bridesmaid gowns.
I had never heard of the option to combine art and fashion hobbies with a legal career, until I went to a Fashion Law Seminar in New York, City at Fordham Law School. The seminar opened my eyes and made it all crystal clear. After the all day Fashion Law Seminar, I was overjoyed, yes there are lots of attorneys like me, who like fashion and art, attorneys who are “creative types” like I have always been labeled. I was not different for New York, Los Angeles, or Paris standards, and yes I have traveled to Paris and loved it. I just grew up in the wrong place, I thought. But what about creating a space and place where I live? Hmmm. is Washington, DC and it’s surrounding suburbs a fashion capital of the world, sadly no. But it can be made so with people like me. After all, the United States Patent and Trademark Office is headquartered in Washington, DC, yes right here!. The USPTO, is the office that grants, copyrights, trademarks, and patents to creative people such as artists and fashion designers in the United States.
Life is too short to not do you. Special thanks to the Fashion Law Professors in New York at Fordham Law School, that’s right happy smiling Fashion Law Professors! Yes they exist and so now does an LLM in Fashion Law! what a joyous event.
EARLY YEARS
For as long as I can remember I liked to draw and paint. When I was 12 years old, I took an advertised art test and scored pretty high, I was asked to train to design hallmark cards. Since then I have been motivated to sell my own artwork as a hobby. I have also been drawn to fashionable things, clothes, bags, shoes, etc. . These hobbies make me extremely happy.
Yaaaas! cool style, I went to law school in South Florida, Ft. Lauderale by Miami and not far from South Beach. We used to go down to South Beach and the main strip walk by the Versace house on the way to the club. This youtube link will be updated as the cool fashions and seasons change, so you can be kept up to style!
